Plosky Tolbachik Volcano
Natural Park "Volcanoes of Kamchatka" cluster "Klyuchevskoy"

Plosky Tolbachik (3082 m / 10112 ft) is adjacent to the extinct Ostry Tolbachik Volcano (3685 m / 12090 ft). Together they make up a large volcanic range on the territory of Klyuchevskoy Park. The top of Plosky Tolbachik is a three-meter in diameter truncated cone. After eruptions of 1975-76 the volcano crater widened in the result of a collapse and its diameter grew from 350 meters (1148) to 1800 meters (5905 ft). Tolbachik is an amazing and energetically charged place. Tolbachik’s surroundings are dotted with a variety of scoria cones and lava fields. This is an unexplored planet: black scoria covered desert with lots of cones and volcanoes. It looks as if there was never was and never will be any life. In the Soviet Union era Lunar rover and Mars rover were tested here.
